Folk Tales of Niger, as translated by an Emerson Grad

April 29th, 2008 by Joe "The Irish Interrobanger" Gallagher

Emerson Publishing & Writing MA Amanda Cushman is offering copies of her awesome thesis to you, her adoring public. Here’s the message from Amanda:

Hey everyone,
Most of you know I have been madly working on my thesis project all semester, and finally I have completed it! The project consisted of the (brilliant) translation and design of a book of Zarma Folktales. I am thinking of printing up some copies through lulu.com for any interested parties. There are fourteen tales. The stories are colorful and several are unlike any you’ll find elsewhere. There are tales of tricksters, tales of love, and even tales of farting contests. They mostly hilarious and bizarre. I’ve attached the cover to entice you. . .
Though I would like to give them as gifts, I am sadly a poor graduate student. They will cost $6 or $7 per copy (don’t worry, I am not going to be making a profit). As an added bonus, I will sign each one with my very own signature!!
