Today is my last class of the term. I’ll turn in my paper, discuss the last stories of the last book, and begin reading whatever I damn well please. So finishing a term isn’t as momentous as say, finishing a thesis, but it still does free up some leisure time. This means I’ll wake up tomorrow and think “what will I do with myself this afternoon, and the day after that, and the next thirty years?” (or 30 days, whatever). Like a lot of other writing/lit. students, the end of the term for me means I get to choose the next book/story/magazine/whatever I’m gonna read. Also like most writing/lit. students, the reading list is long. Anyway, for me I think the next book is The Loved One by Evelyn Waugh, which made my To-Read-List earlier this morning when a coworker told me it was about Hollywood and Pet Cemeteries! YES! What a wonderful combination!
Normally, at this point I would ask you some sort of question, but really this whole post is just one of the forms my self-celebration of the end of term has taken. So here’s the call for response: Tell me what you might do in your free time at the end of term (if you’re a student, if not, just what you do when a chunk of time makes becomes available or a project complete). Tell me what’s on your reading list. Tell me any random thing you please!
