Do you ever go to your best friend’s house, or website, or blog, and think, “Is something different?” The walls are painted, the furniture reorganized? Well as you can see, we’ve found a new home at www.vernacularlit.com, so I’m going to get really arrogant for a second and say that you may want to update your bookmarks and links to us from your website/blog, etc. (Because we know, we’re just that important to you!) Thanks for finding us here.
We’d also like to plug a few new features of our new home (extra bedrooms or a cool flat screen TV, if you want to extend the domestic residence metaphor):
1. Tabs for Browsing- Now you can find out what upcoming literary events are happening in Boston, how your fellow Emerson grad students, alums, and faculty are doing, and read amazing snarky musings and book reviews!
2. Resources Page- For all of your literary needs! Also, if you have a small press, lit mag, or website/blog you’d like us to consider adding, let us know.
3. Vernacular and Powells.com Search boxes- We have all of our archives here, so now you can search for your favorite old Vernacular posts by keyword (or Tag Cloud)! Also, if you buy books from Powells.com using our search box (or links in the posts), you’ll support America’s largest indie bookstore AND literary blogging! A win-win (win) situation, if you will.
4. Finally, we’d like to hear from you!!! So if you are in the Boston area, and have literary news, job or internship openings, or a literary event that you’d like to publicize, let us know and we’ll post your announcement!
Also, if you are a grad student or alumni of Emerson College’s WLP Department, whether the Master’s Program in Publishing and Writing or Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, send us your news about getting published, new publishing jobs, or any opportunities that you may know about! We’ve created a whole “Emerson Connect” space just for you, to foster a digital community of Emerson WLP students past, present, and future!
Email us any or all of this at vernacularlit@gmail.com.
